Vote You Bums

Reminder that today (Tuesday, Feb 16, 2010) is primary election day throughout Winnebago County. No endorsements or candidate recaps for the primary - just too busy. However, I do want to recognize the individuals who have demonstrated a willingness to work hard, get out, and meet with voters. I've also linked to the council candidates that took the time to provide a campaign statement to mainstreet.

The following offices have a primary contest:

- Oshkosh Common Council
~ Allan Siiman (+ 1 for coming to my door to talk about the campaign)
~ John Hinz
~ Burk Tower
~ Ronald Kane Hardy (+ 1 for coming to my door to talk about the campaign)
~ Steven Herman
~ Brian Poeschl
~ Steve Cummings

- Circuit Court Judge, Branch 5
~ David W. Keck (+ 1 for coming to my door to talk about the campaign)
~ John Jorgensen
~ Caroline A. Carver
~ Edmund J. Jelinski
~ Mark Richard Fremgen

Other elections include:

- Town of Algoma Supervisor

- Town Clayton Supervisor 3

- City of Menasha Alder.D4

- City of Neenah Mayor

- City of Omro Mayor

Reads like endorsements to me! Is it really necessary?

Just read the words then, and don't overthink it. Anyone who reads this site by now must recognize that Ron Hardy would get the site endorsement if there was one, considering he is one of the founders and regular contributors (when not running a campaign), and we really like the work he does.

Anyway, I removed the boldenness to reduce the impact of the link in an attempt to make you more happy or less upset - however challenging it is to appease the touchy anony.

And while endorsements are allowed here, there weren't any made today, as indicated, because I just don't have time to write anything up. Instead, I provided relevant information that was presented to me concerning the candidates (they did some door to door in my neighborhood, they responded to my invitation to provide a written statement, etc). You obviously have alternative sources to access information on them if you are still looking to see who to vote for. Just because it may speak favorably for a candidate doesn't mean that it is an endorsement.

I do like candidates that go door to door though. And while it doesn't guarantee my vote - especially when managing another's campaign - it does add something to the candidate.

Justin:
Wow! I think you are clearly more touchy than anonymous 10:14!
Lighten up a little. It's only a primary election.

next you're going to accuse Justin of micro-managing

I "got" it when you posted Jut. But some folk just need it laid out for them.

Like Jut said, don't overthink it. Ron Hardy is one of the main contributors on Main Street.

Any early poll data in?

Good showing for Steve Herman on his first bid for council. Your pal Ron didn't do so well.
